We Won’t Back Down
The work of educational justice and democracy building isn’t just when things are going well. Our work, rooted in community building, resource development, and teacher leadership, starts from the people who saw this era coming all along. We believe that the teachers and leaders we seek are already among us. No one’s coming to “save” us, so we will save ourselves.
Let’s commit to using our voices to build towards the world we seek. Let’s push others to do right by our neighbors here and abroad. Let’s be wary of movements that seek to isolate us from each other and run away from justice. Let’s put both feet into spaces that promote belonging and authenticity.
Let’s affirm our shared humanity. I believe that’s us. And tomorrow there’ll be more.

EduColor is a proud member of the National Newcomer Network, a coalition of dozens of organizations that care about newcomers to come together to push our education system to adequately support the real needs of newcomers everywhere. This resource includes resources for families, school leaders, district leaders, and educators, including early childhood educators and special needs students. This is an ever-growing resource, so feel free to share feedback with us and we can help add on.
Many of our members and EduColor speakers have found Timothy Snyder’s concise book On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons From the Twentieth Century an invaluable resource to better understand the rising tide of fascism and authoritarianism from a historical perspective. From the book description: “On Tyranny is a call to arms and a guide to resistance, with invaluable ideas for how we can preserve our freedoms in the uncertain years to come.”
EduColor aims to represent teachers who strive towards racial and social justice. We build and amplify communities of educators of color from the Northeast to Southern California and all points in between. Your contributions go a long way to helping us support people doing dope, critical work.
We’re growing quickly and your contributions are tax-deductible! Come through!
