Every year for the last five years, a collective of educators, students, and concerned citizens have come together to discuss and take action on the most relevant topics of our time.

We wanted a gathering space that ...

  • helped us build community of sustenance and mutual cares with educators across the country and the world
  • allowed us to share knowledge with colleagues about the work we must do for our students and communities
  • all while centering the work of equity, pedagogy, and agency for all participants.

The EduColor Summit brings together some of the most innovative and community-centered educators from across the country to convene around the issues of pedagogy, agency, and equity. In addition, we have student panels and community-building time. Now, over 300 participants and 40 presenters later - including educators, students, and policymakers - we're proud to bring everyone a truly innovative, responsive, and sustaining form of professional development.

Over the years, EduColor Summit has brought together more than 500 educators (reaching over 10,000 students!) from across the country (and internationally) to develop workshops and panels with educators, parents, and students to have the conversation beyond the 101 dialogue on race and professional development virtually. We used the summit as a way to move past the basic conversations about equity and go right into research and action for student-facing adults and so many others. We’ve created spaces for educators from various backgrounds and a sense of understanding to develop community and create a dialogue while listening to students, fellow educators, parents, and policymakers on how to make change happen in their local spaces.
