About
EduColor is building a research-practice partnership with the Teachers College Center on History and Education (TC-CHE). Together we are creating venues for New York City educators to learn together and improve their practice toward educational justice through encounters with local histories of educational activism.
From its inception as a group of teachers working towards social justice, EduColor has noticed a critical need for educator learning and collaboration around historical and contemporary movements against racism, ableism, and other systemic oppressions in schools. Meanwhile, TC-CHE has researched and developed learning resources about the robust history of educational activism in New York City.
Through our partnership, and working in the tradition of educational design research (EDR), we are building and researching a professional learning network (PLN) that is rooted in history to advance liberatory pedagogy and inform teachers’ professional identities. We named this PLN the History and Education Action Learning Collaborative, or HEAL Collaborative (HEAL).
We are educators from across the city who have expertise across the content areas. To find out more about us, please go to the contact form.
